Bloemfontein - Most motor vehicle accidents reported this year on the N3 toll route happened in clear weather.
Research by the N3 Toll Route Concession company, shows that driver error remains the top cause for crashes and fatalities on the N3.
A total of 915 crashes were reported between January and October this year, 381 involved single light vehicles and 192 single heavy vehicles.
The types of crashes mostly reported, were vehicles rolling, vehicles leaving the road and head-tail collisions.
Company spokesperson Con Roux says motorists must be patient in heavy traffic.
The expected peak traffic period on the N3 toll route this festive season, south bound towards the coast, is tomorrow between 10:00 and 22:00 and on Saturday and Sunday between 06:00 and 15:00.
The next expected peak period will be from December 15.
