Parys murders: Police captain granted bail | News Article

Parys - A senior police officer was granted bail of R5 000 after he appeared briefly in the Parys Magistrate's Court this morning.

Captain Henk Prinsloo was arrested yesterday for allegedly assisting four Parys farmers in the murder of two suspected farm attackers.

Boeta van der Westuizen, Johan Cilliers senior, his son Johan jr. and Anton Loggenberg were arrested for allegedly killing two men who supposedly attacked Van der Westhuizen's elderly father, Loedie, on his farm Biesiesbult last month.

OFM News’ Dane Beisheim reports that Prinsloo will appear in the same court alongside the four other suspects tomorrow.

Magistrate Leshnee Pillay set Prinsloo’s bail at R5 000, as this was the amount decided upon by the court for the other accused when they first applied for bail in January.

Meanwhile the search for an alleged cell phone video depicting the assault on the two men who later died continues.
