Sars seized Mandrax worth R80 million at border post─── 11:32 Sun, 17 Apr 2016
Zeerust - Sars customs officials busted a drug smuggling operation with goods to the value of almost R80 million at the Kopfontein border post in North West yesterday.
Two foreign nationals were arrested for drug smuggling and handed over to the police. According to a Sars statement, the bust happened when an empty truck was stopped for routine inspection.
The Customs Detector Dogs reacted positively to narcotics.
It was found the truck had false compartments to stash away 141 packages of Mandrax.
