Sadtu to march against Free State Education MEC─── REFILWE GAESWE 06:22 Mon, 18 Apr 2016
Bloemfontein - The South African Democratic Teachers Union (Sadtu) in the Free State will march against the MEC for Education, Tate Makgoe, this week.
Sadtu’s provincial secretary, Makholoane Moloi, says union members have already embarked on a ‘work-to-rule’ campaign, since schools reopened for the second term. Moloi says Sadtu is unhappy about the manner in which Makgoe runs the department.
After the march a memorandum will be handed over to Free State Premier Ace Magashule’s office.
Meanwhile the provincial Department of Education says it is aware of the planned march. Spokesperson, Howard Ndaba, says they will wait for the memorandum to be handed over and then determine a way forward.
