Bloemfontein - Eight people were injured, two critically, after a house fire broke out in Pellissier in Bloemfontein earlier today.
Pieter Rossouw, ER24 spokesperson, says the house had 12 occupants inside when the fire broke out. Two people sustained critical injuries and six others suffered minor injuries. He said the injuries ranged from minor smoke inhalation to serious burn wounds.
Rossouw said when ER24 paramedics arrived on scene, the fire department had already extinguished the fire.
The two critically injured patients were taken to Pelonomi Hospital for further treatment. The remaining patients were treated and transported to hospital by other services on scene.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
