NC High Court rules on Trifecta issues─── 15:35 Thu, 05 May 2016
Kimberley - The Northern Cape High Court has refused an application by the NPA to lead further oral evidence in the multi-million rand Trifecta leasing case against former Northern Cape MEC, John Block, and businessman, Christo Scholtz.
The two were found guilty of corruption and money laundering last year relating to the leasing of buildings to the Northern Cape Social Development Department. The buildings were owned by Trifecta, of which Scholtz was the director.
In a second matter before the court, Judge Violet Phatsoane held that Scholtz and the AFU must exchange relevant documents with regards to an asset seizure by May 31.
DFA reporter Sandi Kwan Hoo reports the State was looking to add several additional leases to the case which was refused by the court today.
