Bloemfontein head-butter gets suspended sentence─── 15:24 Thu, 26 May 2016
Bloemfontein - Former provincial rugby player, Leon van der Wath, has received a suspended sentence in the Bloemfontein Magistrate's Court.
Van der Wath earlier pleaded guilty to an assault charge after he head-butted a woman in a bar in the city.
Magistrate Ephraim Sebe sentenced Van der Wath to a R80 000 fine or 24 months' imprisonment, which were suspended for five years.
The woman did not testify during the sentencing procedures as previously expected.
