Three killed, five injured in FS crash─── 05:44 Mon, 30 May 2016
Virginia - Three people, including a child, have been killed and five more were injured following a collision involving two vehicles on the R30 between Virginia and Theunissen in the Free State.
Reports from the scene indicate that five people sustained injuries ranging from serious to minor. Netcare911 paramedics worked alongside various emergency services on scene to treat the injured. The three deceased included a man, woman and a child. They were all declared dead on scene. It is unclear at this stage if the three are a family, but they were all travelling in one vehicle.
The cause of the accident will remain a subject for police investigation and comment.
This accident happened at about 16h55 on Sunday afternoon.
