Three security guards shot at during attempted cash-in-transit-heist near Brits─── 10:04 Wed, 01 Jun 2016
Brits - Three security officers were shot, with one critically injured, during an attempted cash-in-transit-heist on the N4 near the Brits off-ramp in North West this morning.
Netcare 911 spokesperson, Athlenda Mathe, said reports from the scene indicate that a group of robbers shot at the security vehicle multiple times.
Netcare911 paramedics worked alongside the Hartebeespoort Emergency Rescue Unit to stabilise the wounded on scene. Two of the officers were transported by ambulances to a nearby hospital for further medical care. The Netcare helicopter was dispatched to the scene to airlift one of the critically wounded officers to a trauma facility in Johannesburg for further medical care.
This incident happened this morning between 04h30 and 05h30.
