Bakkie rolls killing one and injuring two at Potchefstroom─── 15:21 Wed, 29 Jun 2016
Potchefstroom - A man was killed and two women injured this afternoon when their bakkie rolled multiple times off the N12, roughly 15km outside of Potchefstroom.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the bakkie sitting upright in a veld some distance away from the road.
On closer inspection, paramedics found the male driver lying trapped inside the vehicle. Unfortunately, the man had already succumbed to his injuries prior to the arrival of paramedics. Nothing more could be done for the patient and he was declared dead on scene.
Two women were found outside of the vehicle. Both women had apparently been pulled from the vehicle by bystanders.
Paramedics assessed both women and found that they have sustained moderate injuries. Both patients were treated and transported to a hospital in Potchefstroom for further treatment.
The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
