Man dies in N8 crash outside Petrusburg─── 16:38 Mon, 25 Jul 2016
Petrusburg - The driver of a bakkie was killed in a head-on collision on the N8 outside Petrusburg, direction Bloemfontein.
Netcare911's Chris Botha says their paramedics responded to the accident at 15:23. Reports from the scene indicate that a truck and the bakkie collided in the heavy rain however, exact detail to the cause will remain a subject for police investigation.
Paramedics arrived and found the roadway obstructed with accident debris and the twisted frames of the vehicles. After the injured were examined it was found that the driver of the bakkie a man in his forties tragically died due to the extensive injuries that he sustained.
The passenger, a woman was found to be in a critical condition. Paramedics stabilised her at the scene before she was transported to hospital under the care of a Netcare 911 advanced life support paramedic.
