Free State local municipality CFO granted bail in murder case─── 05:39 Wed, 17 Aug 2016
Bloemfontein - The Mantsopa Local Municipality's chief financial officer, who is accused of murdering his girlfriend in Ladybrand, was granted bail on Monday, Free State police said.
Donald Matsie was granted R10 000 bail, Captain Phumelelo Dhlamini said.
The matter was postponed to September 20.
Matsie and his friend, Mosebudi Moshodi, a security manager at the Setsoto Local Municipality, were arrested in connection with the murder of Tshidi Lisenyane.
She was shot in the head on August 6. The incident happened at the Ladybrand municipal flats on Church Street. Moshodi was released on R1 000 bail.
On the day of the incident, Lisenyane and Matsie were at home when they were joined by Moshodi, Dhlamini said.
"It is alleged that the two male friends were playing with a firearm and a shot went off and hit the deceased in the right ear. She died at the scene."
