Bloemfontein gangsters arrested for members' murders─── 07:02 Sat, 20 Aug 2016
Bloemfontein - Six members of the Born to Kill (BTK) gang in Bloemfontein were arrested on Friday after they allegedly killed two of their own members, the Hawks said.
Aged between 17 and 19, they were arrested in the early hours of the morning, spokesperson Captain Sfiso Nyakane said.
Last Friday, they allegedly attacked two of their members, aged between 19 and 20, in Chris Hani Phase 3, Bloemfontein, because the two wanted to leave the gang.
"They stabbed and hacked them with pangas," Nyakane said.
One was allegedly hacked to death in his home, in front of his parents. He was rushed to hospital where he died. The killers stole two cellphones, a DVD player and R200 in cash before running away.
The 17-year-old would be detained in a place of safety because he was still a minor.
All six were expected to appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate's Court on Monday on charges of murder and house robbery.
