Problems at Monapo Hospital will soon be over - Maarohanye─── 15:32 Tue, 20 Sep 2016
Qwaqwa - Overcrowding, a serious shortage of medical staff, limited water supply, and a lack of resources at the Mofumahadi Manapo Regional Hospital in Qwaqwa, will soon be problems of the past.
This is according to the Free State Health District Manager, Papi Maarohanye. He says although health care facilities in the Thabo Mofutsanyana District are faced with challenges, there are programmes set to address these problems. This comes amid an oversight visit by Parliament’s Portfolio Committee for Health to this hospital.
Maarohanye says they are visiting Manapo Hospital and two local clinics today as part of its oversight visits to National Health Insurance (NHI) pilot sites.
"We drafted a plan to address these issues and we are currently implementing a programme to limit the number of patients that visit public clinics, so that we do not have a problem of overcrowding. This programme will enable them to collect their medication at collection-places of their choice," Maarohanye says.
