Galeshewe - Members of the Galeshewe Visible Policing Unit closed down an illegal shebeen in Galeshewe, Kimberley while on a festive 'Back to Basics' festive operation roll-out on Wednesday.


Liqour with an estimated street value of R3 500 was confiscated.

The owner aged 55-years-old was arrested for selling liquor without licence.

Different tuck shops were visited  and one tuck shop owner was issued with a fine for selling fireworks without a licence.

In Chabagae Street, Galeshewe the police searched a house and recovered 160 liters of home-brewed beer.

The owner was issued with a fine and the concoction was destroyed. The arrested suspect will appear in Galeshewe Court soon.
