CUT launches 2017 academic year─── MOEKETSI MOGOTSI 12:08 Sun, 29 Jan 2017
Bloemfontein - The Central University of Technology welcomed new and returning students as it officially kick-started the academic year at its Bloemfontein campus on Saturday.
CUT Acting Vice-Chancellor, Henk de Jager, thanked those that chose the institution in a heart-warming speech.
De Jager said the university has big plans for the year ahead and he told parents and students in attendance that this year they were hoping to bring out the best in their students.
“The theme of 2017 is ‘The year of the human project'.” So this year we really put people in the centre of it... staff, students, parents and the community. And we would like to make a difference in their lives, to assist them to reach their full potential,” he said.
De Jager added that the university already has a few innovative projects lined up this year including an idea generator hub, which aims to assist students in bringing their ideas to life.
