Guptas get interdict against Malema, EFF─── 17:42 Tue, 09 Feb 2016
Pretoria - The High Court in Pretoria on Tuesday granted an interdict prohibiting Julius Malema and the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) from issuing threats of violence against the Gupta family and their employees.
In a brief judgement, Judge Johan Louw said he would give reasons for granting the interdict sought by the Gupta family at a later stage.
The prominent family and their business entities made an urgent application for an interdict, saying utteranceS by Malema and members of his party were putting their lives at risk.
Last week, Malema told a media briefing in Johannesburg that he banning any journalist belonging to the Gupta media companies from covering and attending any EFF events.
He also said that the safety of journalists from the New Age newspaper and ANN7 television station could not be guaranteed.
