Bloemfontein - The registration process for suppliers doing business with municipalities in the country is due to start tomorrow.
This is the second registration process for the Central Supplier Database (CSD). The first process entailed the registration of suppliers for national and provincial government.
According to a statement by National Treasury, a total of 150 000 suppliers already heeded the call to register.
Free State Treasury warned business owners earlier that they would not be able to do business with provincial government departments or municipalities in the province unless they were registered on the CSD.
Tshepo Mabilo, Chief Director Assets and Liability management from provincial treasury, says companies that have already been awarded a tender, but are not registered are also going to experience payment problems.
