Limpopo police cracks stolen vehicle syndicate─── 11:15 Thu, 22 Sep 2016
Beitbridge - Police in Limpopo say they have broken the back of a syndicate involved in smuggling cars across the border into neighbouring Zimbabwe after arresting five suspects and recovering four stolen vehicles.
Police say the suspects were arrested after an operation led by crime intelligence and a provincial Tracking Team stopped suspects from smuggling four vehicles to Zimbabwe last night.
Police spokesperson, Moatshe Ngoape, says the syndicate has been smuggling stolen motor vehicles from South Africa to Zimbabwe through the Limpopo river for some time.
Ngoape says all the recovered vehicles, one of them belonging to the SA government, were stolen in Gauteng.
