Johannesburg - Wits University report that they have found three petrol bombs on Wits' Braamfontein campus on Saturday.
The SABC reports that according to a statement released by the university on Saturday evening, the bombs were found behind a building close to a fence.
“Today’s discovery provides strong evidence that there are people intent on arson who will go to any length to put the lives of the university community in danger and who are intent on destroying University property,” reads the statement in part.
Violent protests that formed part of the #FeesMustFall campaign flared up at Wits and spread across the country following Higher Education Minister Blade Nzimande’s announcement earlier in week that universities could set their own fee increases up to a maximum of 8%.
