Pupil in Cosas march dies after being pinned between two buses─── 17:33 Fri, 30 Sep 2016
Johannesburg - A 17-year-old died after he was pinned between two buses during a march on William Nicol Drive, Sandton, on Friday, police said.
It is believed the pupil was part of the Congress of the South African Students (Cosas) march at which the organisation handed over a memorandum to the JSE, Captain Kay Makhubele said.
Makhubele said the exact cause of the incident was not clear.
The teenager was declared dead on the scene.
However, when contacted Cosas secretary general Khulekani Skosana said the organisation was not in a position to comment on the matter yet.
"We are still engaging with the police about the incident. Once I have more details about the incident, I can confirm it," Skosana said.
Makhubele said police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
