Johannesburg - The trial of motorist Preshalin Naidoo, who was involved in a car accident that killed Top Billing television presenter Simba Mhere and his friend Kady Shay O’Brien, was on Monday postponed after the defence attorney fell ill.

Naidoo, 24, who faces two charges of culpable homicide, was appearing at the Randburg Magistrate's Court. The charges are in connection with the three-car crash along William Nicol Drive in Fourways, Johannesburg, on January 31, 2015.

Previously state prosecutor Dinesh Nandkissor told the court that the state would be calling a witness who would be testifying about the data retrieved from the tracking device that was in Naidoo’s vehicle.

Francois Roets for Naidoo argued and said that the defence would challenge the state's evidence as well as the liability of what the document presented.

The matter was postponed to Tuesday.
