FSA drought aid forms due end of the month─── SABRINA DEAN 13:46 Tue, 24 Nov 2015
Bloemfontein - Free State Agriculture (FSA) is urging all its members to complete and submit drought assistance forms to their local farmers’ unions by no later than November 30.
The organisation said in a statement that rainfall across the province varies from 60mm in certain places to a 3-inch layer of dust in others.
FSA says of particular concern is the very dry regions such as Wesselsbron, Bothaville, Bultfontein, Boshof and Hertzogville, which have not received any significant rainfall as yet. Weather extremes are also further complicating matters, with Reitz in the eastern Free State having been blanketed in frost at the weekend.
FSA is encouraging members who need assistance to submit forms and has also appealed to anyone who can assist with possible donations to also complete a form.
