Central SA women bring home three national awards─── 13:39 Fri, 26 Aug 2016
Polokwane - Women in Northern Cape and North West held central South Africa's name high after bringing home three awards during the 2016 National Female Entrepreneur Awards.
According to a statement by the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Candice Bostander from the Northern Cape scooped the Ministerial Award for Young Female Entrepreneur. Mabel Motlhele, also from Northern Cape, took home the national award as the best entrepreneur in the processing category.
Nthabiseng Kgobokoe from North West took the national title for best subsistence producer.
The overall winner was Venecia Janse from the Eastern Cape, who also took the national award for top entrepreneur in export markets.
The Department's Director General, Mike Mlengana, said he is pleased and encouraged by how the department takes women empowerment seriously.
