This after two other directors of Boere In Nood (BIN), Carina Swartz and Nico Gerber, filed an application in the Free State High Court for the organisation’s auditors to gain access to accounts in the name of co-director AC (NC) Schoombie. 

This has now been made an order of the court and Schoombie has also been interdicted from interfering with the organisation’s Facebook group.

Swartz said in her founding affidavit that the original account was in Schoombie’s name, which meant he had exclusive access. She says all went well until April 2016 when he allegedly refused to continue providing bank statements to the rest of the management committee.

The court order means the three accounts have now been frozen and the auditors, JVF Accountants, will be granted necessary access.

Schoombie has since posted a statement on the Facebook group. He says he has always given his full cooperation to fellow directors and has nothing to hide, which is also why he didn’t oppose the court application.

A statement issued by Swartz says the court order means that the auditors can now follow necessary processes and that in the event there are monies outstanding to the organisation, these will be paid into a new account. 

She says the organisation will continue providing help and has reassured the public this will take place in a financially responsible manner in cooperation with the auditors.
