Every November, a band of perfectly ordinary men take on the brave task of growing and grooming a moustache.

All of this is for a good cause. Whether ginger, blonde, dark or subtle, every Movember moustache is a hairy ribbon in the fight for men’s health.

It is halfway through Movember and if you haven’t been able to get yours in to grow in the right fashion here are a few grooming tips to ensure that you are able to catch up.

Choose a Mo

As the first follicles break through the surface of your upper lip, choose the type of moustache that will grace your face.

Be brave

The first few days, even weeks, can be uncomfortable and a little awkward as your facial fuzz grows and your Mo takes shape.

 Ignore the itching

Remind yourself that men have endured worse in the past; you can stand a little face tickle.

Get the tools

Now is the time to invest in the right tools for the job. A man committed to moustachery should own the following: barber scissors, a fine-toothed comb, a large mirror, a trusty razor, a steady hand and a determined mind.

Make the most of what you’ve got

You might not be seeing too much progress yet, but it’s early days. For now, show off what you’ve got. Foam up your face and run a sharp razor along everything but the Mo, to make it stand out.

Nurture it and keep it clean

Look after your Mo, and your Mo will look after you. Shampoo regularly. As fetching as they are, moustaches collect all sorts of things. No matter how fine the food, it doesn’t belong in your Mo.

Strictly no beards

You cannot have a beard - which means no joining your sideburns to your beard. Nor can you join your chin to your handlebars.

Don’t get left out of what has become the biggest men’s health movement of our time. Help change the face of men’s health. Support a bro and grow a Mo, because men matter too.
