Please Note: Moqhaka Municipality advises consumers to boil water─── 15:58 Fri, 13 May 2016
Moqhaka Municipality’s water quality are monitored on a regular basis, but due to the recent maintenance on the network, algae might be present in the drinking water.
As precautionary measures, it is advised that the drinking water is boiled for the next seven days. This is to ensure that human health is not affected in any manner.
BOILING ALETRS TIPS TO BE DONE
Do not drink tap water; unless boiled
Cook with tap water ONLY if food is boiled for at least one minute
Wash dishes, fruits and vegetables in boiled water or water that has been disinfected with bleach
Brush your teeth with boiled and/or bottled water
Bring water to a rolling boil for 1 minute to kill most organisms;
If you cannot boil your water, mix one teaspoon of unscented, ordinary household chlorine bleach to 20 litres of water. Mix a solution thoroughly, cover and allow to stand for at least 2 hours before use; or
Make use of chlorine tablets available at chemists.
The Municipality would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.
