OFM News’ agri editor Sabrina Dean recently spoke to the Group Managing Director of the National Emergent Red Meat Producer’s Organisation, Aggrey Mahanjana.
He spoke about Nerpo’s unhappiness with government over alleged lack of support to get more farmers involved in the organisation's livestock syndication scheme. Mahanjana says the success of the scheme lies in the numbers involved.
He says bureaucratic red tape is holding up support such as infrastructure development,marketing and logistical support. He says they have had good support from industry but that this can only go so far before Government needs to come on board.
