Uys heads to Japan─── 19:22 Thu, 26 Nov 2015
Toyota Cheetahs lock and captain for the 2015 season, Francois Uys, is heading to Japan where he will feature in the Japanese Top League.
An injury to one of the Toyota Verblitz players has seen the emergency call go to the Cheetahs for a replacement.
Cheetahs Marketing Manager, Kobus le Roux, confirmed to OFM Sport that the solid second-rower will in all likeliness feature for Verblitz for the remainder of their season.
The Cheetahs and their Japanese counterparts have an arrangement where they are planning to swop players in order to lend each other assistance.
Double World Cup winnings former Springboks and Cheetahs prop, Os du Randt, is currently the Verblitz forwards coach.
Uys has become the first player to be loaned to the Japanese club and Le Roux also confirmed that the player will be back in Bloemfontein for the side's Super Rugby match next year against the “Los Jaguars” on 26 February in the City of Roses.
