The Toyota Cheetahs have named their side to tackle the Southern Kings on Friday evening in a Super rugby warm-up match.

The side landed in Port Elizabeth this afternoon from Zimbabwe were they beat the Bulls 28-10 last week.

Flyhalf Sias Ebersohn has been named in a starting role, while captain Francois Venter also returns to the starting XV.

He will be joined in the midfield by IRB Junior World Championship winning former Baby Bok, William Small-Smith.

Sergeal Petersen starts at fullback, while Maphutha Dolo and Raymond Rhule start on the wing.

Up front Maks van Dyk, Torsten van Jaarveld and Charles Marais form the front-row, while Springbok lock Lood de Jager has been named as the teams’ vice-captain.

The side has battled with their scrums over the past few years despite having Springboks like Coenie Oosthuizen, Trevor Nyakane and Marcel van der Merwe in their recent front-rows.

It’s an aspect of their game which received a lot of attention during the preseason thanks to the help of Daan Human.

Former captain, Francois Uys who isn’t traveling with the squad for their warm-up matches says it’ encouraging to hear that the side is doing well and scrumming well in particular.
