Hendricks' career may be over─── 08:46 Thu, 11 Feb 2016
Former Springbok and Toyota Cheetahs winger, Cornal Hendricks’ playing days may be something of the past.
The Springbok Sevens stalwart, who made a move back to Cape Town to play for the Stormers, is said to have a serious heart condition. This is according to Die Burger.
The player still hasn’t turned up for training at the teams’ High-Performance Centre in Bellville this week and the management, as well as SARU, remains tight-lipped on his condition.
According to the report in the daily, Hendricks’ condition first came to light when he joined the Blitzboks camp in Stellenbosch late last year.
While the wellbeing of Hendricks takes precedence at the Cape franchise, his absence will test their depth in the wing department.
The Stormers tackle the Jaguars of Argentina in a Super Rugby warm-up at Newlands on Saturday, with the match in the shadows of Table Mountain kicking off at 16:00.
