Province look to raise standards against FS Cheetahs | News Article
Jaco Taute - Gallo

The Western Province coach, John Dobson, has rung the changes in his side ahead of tomorrow night’s Currie Cup third round clash against the Toyota Free State Cheetahs.

Jaco Taute will begin at fullback in Cape Town while Kobus van Dyk starts on the wing.

The Blitzboks, Cheslin Kolbe, is back from Rio de Janeiro where he won a bronze medal in the rugby tournament and he will be playing off the bench.

Huw Jones and Johnny Kotze will patrol the midfield at centre with Dan du Plessis out due to a shoulder injury.

Brandon Thomson makes his Currie Cup debut at flyhalf with Robert du Preez among the replacements.

Sikhumbuzo Notshe returns from the Springbok camp in Nelspruit and will run out at eighth man while JC Janse van Rensburg replaces the injured Oli Kebble on the bench.

Dobson says they will have to raise their standards against the Free State on Friday.

"The players have worked hard this week, and we know that we are in for a serious test against a Cheetahs side that has won both of their games this season convincingly.

"We will have to raise our standards, but we are confident that we can get the result we are looking for at  Newlands if we execute our plans."
