The Springboks are expecting a bruising battle on Saturday when they tackle Argentina in the Rugby Championship.

The team travels from Buenos Aires to Salta today where a normally hostile crowd will await them.

It’s the first time in two years the teams are facing each other in the city and the last time they played there the Springboks won 33-31, thanks to a late penalty by Morné Steyn.

The Boks are looking to build on their continuity and coach Allister Coetzee has made just one injury-enforced change to the starting XV, with Vincent Koch running out at tighthead prop.

The Springboks captain, Adriaan Strauss, says the Argentines are a world force in rugby now and they will be taking last week’s 30-23 defeat in Nelspruit personally.

“The Argentines have been semi-finalists in Rugby World Cups for a couple of times now.

“They are a rugby force and not a building nation anymore.

“It’s a massive Test match for us against them in their own backyard.

“We know they are a passionate nation and they will come with a backlash as well, but we are better and we’ve prepared quite well and we are ready for a great Test match on Saturday.”

The Pumas in their turn have also opted for continuity and named an unchanged match-23.

Saturday evening’s Test at the Estadio Padre Ernesto Martearena kicks off at 21:40, while on Saturday morning at 9:35 the All Black will host the Wallabies at the Westpac Stadium in Wellington.
