A capacity crowd is expected this weekend with the South African leg of the HSBC World Sevens Series taking place in Cape Town.

At 13:00 on Tuesday afternoon less than a 100 tickets were available for both days of the event that will take place at the 55 000 seater Cape Town Stadium.

The Blitzboks are the reigning champions in the Mother City and also arrived in the city as the newly crowned Dubai Sevens champions.

After thrashing New Zealand 40-0 and beating Fiji 26-14 in the final on Sunday, the South Africans confidence is high, however, they want to avoid complacency.

The team’s coach, Neil Powell, says that they have to put the win in Dubai behind them and start all over again in Cape Town.

“We need to lay the foundation again and then start building in the second and third game, then hopefully finish it off on day two.

“It’s going to take a massive effort from every single guy and hopefully we can go through the tournament without any injuries.”

South Africa are in Pool A for their home tournament and will face Russia, Australia and USA on Saturday in the group phase.
