Larsen resigns as Celtic coach | News Article

OFM Sport has been informed that Bloemfontein Celtic coach, Clinton Larsen, has resigned as the team's coach.

This is the second time that the former Bafana Bafana midfielder has resigned from the club in the space of two years.

Larsen parted ways with Phunya Sele Sele in 2013 and took up the coaching role at Maritzburg United before being sacked in the same season.

This saw him take over the NFD side Roses United in Bloemfontein before being reappointed as the Celtic coach in December 2014, following Ernst Middendorp’s axing.

Celtic haven’t won a game in all competition since 27 September when they beat the University of Pretoria Tuks 2-0 in the league.

This ended Celtic’s four-match unbeaten run and since then the team has played to four draws and two losses.

Both the losses came at the newly revamped Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium in Rocklands, with a 1-0 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns and Sunday’s 2-0 loss to the third-placed Mpumalanga Black Aces.

Phunya Sele Sele next face Chippa United on 18 December at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth.

More to follow.
