The Mamelodi Sundowns midfield trio of Hlompho Kekana, Khama Billiat and Keegan Dolly have all been nominated for the 2015/16 Premier Soccer League Player of the Year award.

The nominations were revealed yesterday and it also sees the Free State Stars striker, Sello Jaftha, in line for the Young Player of the Year award along with Rivaldo Coetzee of Ajax Cape Town and Aubrey Modiba of Black Aces.

Billiat says he is delighted that he and his teammates have been nominated.

"The guys worked so hard, pushed to the limit. We had to come to the party.

"People called us the 'CBD' and we are happy.

"It was the contribution of everybody in the team. We had to come to the party and help the team win the title which is what we did . We are really grateful for it."

The Brazilians scored a record 71 points on their way to claiming the PSL title for a record seventh time and Kekana puts this down to the solid foundation they laid early in the season.

The annual PSL Awards will take place on 30 May in Johannesburg.
