Elias Pelembe and Thulani Hlatshwayo found the back of the net for Wits at the Bidvest Stadium for a 2-1 win over Kaizer Chiefs, while Lorenzo Joao Gordinho scored for the Amakhosi.

Following the match, the Chiefs coach, Steve Khompela, said they played into the hands of the Clever Boys.

"I think one of the things that we did wrong tonight was we played to their strength, we allowed them to keep the ball in the air and didn't bring the ball down and play."

In Polokwane the newly promoted Baroka FC were held to a 1-1 draw by Roger de Sa’s Ajax Cape Town.
