The Premier Soccer League resumed on Tuesday night with three matches that were played to kick off round two.


In Tembisa, Highlands Park impressed with a win in their first PSL match with a 2-1 victory over Baroka FC.

Marshall Munesti handed Baroka the lead in the 8th minute with a penalty.

Collins Mbesuma equalised for Highlands in the 35th minute before Charlton Mashumba scored the winner in the 51st minute.

Polokwane City held the in-form Wits to a goalless draw at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.

In the Mother City, Orlando Pirates made it two out of two with a 2-1 win over Ajax Cape Town thanks to a Tendai Ndoro brace.

Although the Buccaneers beat the Urban Warriors, the coach, Mushin Ertugral, said he wasn’t happy with the win.

“You can see from my body language that I am not happy.”

“We should have had another goal in the first half, but also you cannot come here and play a certain type of football.

On Wednesday at 19:30 it’s the big Free State derby with Free State Stars hosting Bloemfontein Celtic.

Wednesday's other games see Kaizer Chiefs take on Platinum Stars and SuperSport United host Chippa United.

Golden Arrows face the new boys, Cape Town City F.C. and Maritzburg United host the champions, Mamelodi Sundowns.
