The team from the Mother City, Cape Town City FC, moved back to the top of the Premier Soccer League standings on Tuesday night.

Eric Tinkler’s chargers played to a 1-1 draw against Kaizer Chiefs at the FNB Stadium.

Mitchell Katsvairo opened the scoring for the Glamour Boys in just the third minute of the match and the side from Cape Town had to wait a further 50 minutes for an equaliser.

The Australian midfielder, Matt Sim, hit the back of the net in the 53rd minute to ensure that the City Boys share the points.

The team's coach, Tinkler, was an unhappy man after the draw against the Amakhosi.

“Frustrating, to be honest,” said the former Bafana Bafana and Barnsley midfielder.

“First half I thought we were really bad. Extremely disappointing first half.

“We couldn't keep the ball, we couldn't apply the press(ure), we conceded the goal very sloppily in the first three minutes of the game and we looked extremely lethargic in the first half.

“I was not impressed by that.”

“Second half was a comedy of errors from us.

“When you're playing against ten you need to spread the ball wide and we're still trying to penetrate through the middle. That's the frustrating part.

“For me this is more like two points lost rather than one point gained because I think this was a day when we should have come here and collected all three points.”

Meanwhile, SuperSport United moved to second in the standings following a 2-0 win over Wits at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit.

In Tuesday nights’ other game Maritzburg United and Chippa United played to a 1-1 draw.

On Wednesday evening at 19:30 Gordon Igesund’s Highlands Park host Bloemfontein Celtic in Tembisa.
