Siphelele Mthembu - Kickoff

The Soweto giants, Kaizer Chiefs, have confirmed that they are busy with negotiations with Bloemfontein Celtic, which will see Siphelele Mthembu being loaned to the Free State PSL club.

Mthembu is currently training at Celtic and the player played in a warm-up match against Lesotho.

The striker’s performance during the 1-1 draw against Lesotho is said to have impressed the Celtic management.

The football manager at Chiefs, Bobby Motaung, has confirmed that the negotiations are at an advanced stage and he is confident a deal will be struck soon.

Meanwhile, the former Celtic defender Cheslyn Jampies, whose contract was cancelled by the club late last year, is training in Stellenbosch.

The player, who’s a free agent after being shown the door by Celtic, is said to be training with the National First Division side, Stellenbosch FC.

Jampies said in an interview following his departure that he asked to be released due to a lack of game time.

OFM Sport has it on good authority from a Celtic representative that this is not the case and that the player did indeed break the team's protocol during a visit to the Mother City for a PSL game against Cape Town City FC.
