Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela, the father of our nation, an international icon, was born on July 18, 1918 and died on December 5, 2013, at the age of 95.
In recognition of his life and legacy Nelson Mandela International Day was launched in 2009 to be celebrated on his birthday.
The day transpired after an unanimous decision by the UN General Assembly in an effort to change the world for the better.
Madiba’s legacy lives on in many hearts as illustrated through tributes for and about him by artists across the world.
OFM News' senior journalist Christal-Lize Muller spoke to several local artists who found different ways to pay tribute to the great man through music.
