Feature: Importance of Families in Communities─── REFILWE GAESWE 13:00 Mon, 30 May 2016
The International Day of Families is part of the programme of the United Nations (UN) that stresses the importance of having healthy and happy relationships with relatives.
Families are the 'basic core' of our society - we are born into them and some of the most important developmental years of our lives are spent with our families.
The theme for this year, the 22nd anniversary of the day, is 'Families, healthy lives and sustainable future'.
OFM News’ Refilwe Gaeswe spoke to Karen Botha from Families South Africa (Famsa) about the importance of families in communities and this report was voiced by Thandi Xaba.
