This year the MTN OFM Classic celebrates 10 Years of cycling in central South Africa. Entries for this years event open 1st of June 2010 at www.mtncycling.co.za.
In 2009 Jay Thomson from team MTN Energade was the winner of the ninth MTN OFM Classic. Young Tyler Day was in second place and Argus 2009 winner, Arran Brown from team Medscheme came in third over the finish. As one of the biggest races in South African cycling, the Classic has a diverse route that consists of flat sections, a stretch in the suburbs of the city, with surprising up-hills even on the extended N1 part of the race. The event, which has grown over the past few years, is perceived by many cyclists as possibly one of the best organised races in South Africa. Last year also saw the first MTN OFM Mountain bike race presented. The race was won by world champion Burry Stander.
