#ANCvsANC: FS case struck off the roll | News Article

The disgruntled African National Congress (ANC) in the Free State has warned the ANC against thinking it has a winning national list for the upcoming national election on 8 May 2019.

This after the Johannesburg High Court struck an application off the roll which sought to declare the provincial list conference unconstitutional and invalid. Speaking on behalf of the three disgruntled applicants, Monnapula Ntamo tells OFM News the ANC might end up paying the price at the polls if it ignores disputes by disgruntled members, who are challenging the party’s list of candidates to Parliament.

OFM News previously reported that FS High Court dismissed the case of disgruntled ANC members who challenged the legality of the provincial elective conference that took place in May 2018. He says the ANC has failed on several occasions since 2018 to listen to the grievances about this controversial list. Ntamo says the party seems to be prone to make the wrong decisions and leaders are very reluctant to listen to the demands and issues of party members.

Ntamo says those who are on the party’s national list were not elected by their branches and as a result, they are illegitimate. There has been a string of disputes launched by ANC members over their exclusion from the party’s list of candidates to Parliament. The party has also had its hands full dealing with criticism around some of the controversial inclusions.
