Yet another incident of violent service delivery protests has been reported in the North West with only a few hours to go before the sixth democratic general election in Makgobistad Village near Mahikeng.

A report says disgruntled residents are pelting motorists with stones in that area.

Police spokesperson, Sabata Mokgwabone, says the police is aware of the incident but did not elaborate further regarding whether any arrests have been made or not.

This is the fourth incident reported in the province before tomorrow's much-anticipated elections that have been marred with violent protests.

OFM News previously reported that 21 suspects will on Thursday 9 May 2019 appear before the Ganyesa Magistrate's Court in Tshaneng to face charges, including the contravening of the Electoral Act and malicious damage to property.

Earlier on Tuesday the MEC for Community Safety, Mpho Motlhabane, said no stone will be left unturned over the recent incidents sought to impede the work of the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC).

Earlier the IEC said it identified potential hotspots in the different local municipalities in the province.

It said 30 were identified in Bojanala, 22 in Ngaka Modiri Molema, 17 in Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati and 10 in the Dr Kenneth Kaunda District.

Motlhabane said although the government understands that people have genuine reasons and the right to protest, it does not give them the right to disrupt, destroy and even threaten others.
