Mngxitama and his supporters decided to enter Ikageng in an unfashionable manner riding in a donkey cart with party supporters chanting and singing beside him.

BLF and its leader have been drawn into endless court battles over its slogan of “Land or Death” and it not wanting to accept white people in its party.

In 2018, the Democratic Alliance reported Mngxitama to the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) and taken him to the Equality Court for comments he made while addressing party supporters at the Ikageng sports ground, which it said "incites violence" against white South Africans.

This year, the Freedom Front Plus (FF+) also took the BLF to the electoral court in Bloemfontein, hoping that the party will be axed from taking part in the 2019 elections.

During his speech in Potchefstroom, Mngxitama reportedly urged an audience to kill five white people for every one black person that dies because of taxi violence.

OFM News previously reported that two ballot votes were burned in Ikageng extension 19 on Monday but no-one has been arrested yet.
