President Cyril Ramaphosa will see off the 112 South African citizens who were repatriated from Wuhan, China, and have completed their 14-day quarantine period on Sunday 29 March 2020.

This include over 50 Free State bursary recipients who were based in the Coronavirus-stricken city of Wuhan in the Hubei province. The president's spokesperson, Khusela Diko, says these citizens will be reunited with their families after testing negative for coronavirus at the end of their quarantine period at the Ranch Resort in Polokwane. Diko says the group was placed under quarantine at the resort from 14 March 2020 after they were repatriated from Wuhan following the outbreak of the novel coronavirus or COVID-19.

She says after Ramaphosa's engagement with this group, he will return to Pretoria to chair a virtual meeting of the National Command Council that coordinates the national emergency response with regard to the virus.

This comes as the country entered into its third day of the 21-day national lockdown after the outbreak of the virus in the country, which has infected 1187 people thus far.  With that said, the country has also recorded its first death due to the virus.
