Suspect to appear in court for stabbing 14-year-old girl─── BLAINE JONES 10:30 Mon, 20 Sep 2021
The suspect arrested for the attempted murder of a 14-year-old girl from Bohlokong, at Bethlehem in the Free State, is due to appear in court this week.
The 30-year-old suspect, Vusi Radebe, was arrested on 15 September 2021 and is due to appear in the Bethlehem Magistrate's Court on Friday 24 September 2021.
Free State spokesperson, Motantsi Makhele, says Radebe is charged with attempted murder.
"It is alleged that on Sunday 12 September 2021, the victim was sleeping when her older sister's ex-boyfriend arrived, looking for her sister who was not at home at that time.
The suspect then went on and stabbed the victim all over the body with a sharp instrument, accusing her of hiding her sister. She sustained multiple stab wounds," says Makhele.
She was referred to a local hospital where she is still treated in the Intensive Care Unit.
