#Elections2021: 'Residents, independents will bring about much-needed change'─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 13:18 Mon, 11 Oct 2021
Free State community forums vow to use their relationships with residents across towns and municipalities in the province to bring about much-needed change.
The Community Forum leader and local election candidate in the Masilonyana Municipality, Tshepo Maredi, has told OFM News that they are planning to bring the issues of corruption, including the lack of job opportunities and poor infrastructure, among others, to the fore. Maredi said residents of Masilonyana have been overlooked for some time and this has led to more frustrated community members who are hoping for change.
“We want to fight for service delivery, as we do not have services here in Masilonyana. We do not have sports facilities, we are not developing the youth as it is supposed to be done, we are not getting bursaries from local mines, we are not getting bursaries from municipalities, we do not have sports facilities at schools. Those are the things that we are hoping to change in the next term,” he adds.
