The Bafana Bafana striker, Tokelo Rantie, is still training with Bloemfontein Celtic, but the marksman will not be eligible to play in this weekend’s Nedbank Cup semi-final against Baroka FC.
The 29-year-old Parys-born player has been training with Celtic since before the lockdown, however, due to the sport being suspended in March, he still does not have a contract at the club.
Celtic coach, John Maduka, confirmed that he is still with them, but might only be contracted as of next season.
“He is still with the team and he is still training with the team”, said the legendary former Celtic captain.
“He is working very hard and he is just getting better-and-better.
“We hope that he continues to work hard, and then we will see what decision gets made for the coming season.
“We are not going to sign him for the remaining games, but he is still working with us and his training is going well.”
Celtic face Baroka at 14:00 on Saturday afternoon at the Orlando Stadium, and at 19:00 Mamelodi Sundowns are in action against Wits.
